Clearwater River, Idaho: October 5-12, 2011

Date / Time: October 5-12, 2011 Location: Clearwater River, Idaho Orofino to Lewiston The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Brian Kapaloski, Lee Kapaloski, Becky Hedrick, Aaron Adams Weather: Varied by day (see below) Water Temp: mid to upper 50s Water Level / Tide: Moderate 1,200 cfs or so Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal Moon Phase: A few days before first quarter Fishing: Day 1: Stayed at a rental house in Lenore. Woke up and looked around and ended up floating from Harper’s landing to Lenore. Got a late start and didn’t get on until about 9 or so. Fished the run opposite side from ramp and I got a grab but that was it. Hit some other spots on way for nada. Weather was mostly overcast with spotty rain. Spotted a few here and there. Didn’t hit a lot of good spots since nobody knew the water. No other grabs, saw a few gear boats get fish. Checked out a few spots at cherry lane bridge for last light and ended up on river right, no fish hooked. Day 2: Got up and got on water early at Cherry Lane. Aaron fished river right behind another guy below bridge. Dad fished river right above bridge. BK river left above bridge and me river left below. Nobody hit any fish. Saw a few porpoise and a gear boat get one at the top of the run. During the middle of the day, I went back to hotel
