Diamond Fork June 16th, 2014
Date / Time: Monday, June 16th, 2014 12-3 pm Location: Diamond Fork lower end The Characters: Kory & Anna Weather: Most cloudy, 70s Water Temp: Low 50s guess Water Level: Around 80 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Slight color Moon Phase: Few days after full Best Flies: Tar baby #10 Fishing: Took Anna for a few hrs since PJ told me week previous was slaughter with Cicadas and Salmonflies everywhere. Didn’t know where to go so checked various points and there were tons of small cicadas all over in the trees (clickers with yellow barred legs about size 10). Didn’t spot any fish or see any on water, but went ahead and fished lower end where old road was closed off and gated. Got a decent fish in first hole after 10 minutes or so. Worked up and got a dozen or so eats, not ever spot and most fish in tight spots close to bank. Not on fire, but good. Never saw any cicadas on the water, but the fish ate it. Got some pretty good fish, biggest was probably 17 or so. Never saw any salmonflies. May have been better fishing if it had been sunny and hot which it was not.
