Duchesne River Hanna June 23rd, 2014

Date / Time: Sunday, June 23rd, 2014 11:00-3 pm Location: Duchesne River Hanna. Hanna Post Office The Characters: Kory & Anna Weather: Breezy, partly sunny 70s Water Temp: Mid 50s guess Water Level: Coming down around 100 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal clear Moon Phase: 4 days after first quarter Best Flies: Drake cripple parachute tie over #14 200r Fishing: Had to hit one more day while drakes were going strong, couldn’t resist. Packed Anna up and headed out. Unfortunately while getting ready I left Anna in back seat and forgot to buckle seat belt after changing her and she rolled out, luckily she didn’t get hurt just shook up and weeds on her. I debated leaving, but that meant strapping her back into car seat. She seemed fine after a few minutes so went ahead and fished. Drakes going strong and immediately had two killer fish eat in big pool below access and missed both. Finally stuck the third and it was a pig. Anna was chilling on bank, may have had another eat but not sure. Got Anna back on and worked down through to next few pools. Fish weren’t up as good, but it was a bit later. Went further down and stuck a good one blind fishing tight to the bank while Anna was chilling again. Strapped her back on and spotted one right in front of me. It ate immediately and I missed it. Worked up through a few pools and Anna was tired and falling asleep time to leave. Got to the big flat dad had fished week previous and noticed a pig on river left shallow that I had though I spooked on way down. Made a few cast upstream to him and he ate, good battle landed about 20 incher hook jaw killer fish and called it a day on that one. Headed out to face the music of Tammy after Anna falling out of truck. Good few hours although I felt like a complete jackass dropping my daughter.
