Date / Time: Saturday, June 28th, 2014 11:30-2 pm Location: Duchesne River Hanna. Warm Springs access down to Hanna Post office The Characters: Kory Weather: Breezy, mostly sunny 70s Water Temp: Mid 50s guess Water Level: Coming down around 80 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal clear Moon Phase: Day after new moon Best Flies: Drake cripple parachute tie over #14 200r and parachute drake #12. Fishing: Had Red Canyon reservations that we ended up cancelling to go to arts fest and cuz of Tammy’s work. Headed to Altamont and stopped at Duchesne on way. Anna was asleep with Tammy in car. Fished warm springs downriver, hadn’t fished that access before. Guide was upstream so was forced to go down. Water was down from previous week, but drakes were coming off still. Fished down through and initially nothing on them and nothing on blind casting. Eventually saw a good fish pound a drake and then saw a nice fish sipping in shallows. Got him to eat twice and missed him, other fish in middle couldn’t get to eat. Moved on and spotted a good fish eating in a seam, he ate immediately on cripple and good battle. Nice fish around 19-20” hook jaw. Stuck a few more smaller ones and then blind casted in tailout and banged another good fish around 19”. Worked down into pools above Hanna and got one more killer fish in tight spot heavy water edge off of boulders, cool eat and good battle another about 19-20”. Worked down through and got a 14” rainbow that took it deep so had to keep it. Then had two huge fish eat on bottom right and missed both. Worked down through and didn’t stick any more. Good few hour session with 3 good fish landed and several others missed and some small ones.
