Fishing: Met Joe at Water club near 34th st. at 8 p.m. Went up to Hells gate and fished off the point of the lighthouse. Tony made one cast and instantly hooked a 21 or so inch schoolie, killer start. We fished there for an hour or so and Karl and I each also hooked and landed similar sized fish drifting and trolling in the current with 3 different patterns. Tony on white clouser, Karl on large double chartreuse EV creation, me on peanut bunker imitation i tied. Hit another spot under DEP light. Tony hooked another right away about 23 inches same fly. I got one on red and yellow deceiver. I hooked another one that would not come out and ripped under the pilings and eventually broke off. We floated over and saw several more there but no more hookups. Went to a spot on Gov. Island and pounded it for naught. Went back up and fished at sugar plant, had one follow saw some bait, tony got snagged and we spooked the spot. Went back to DEP spot but not as much current, no action. Went back inside to actual docking area which was well lit and slaughtered one after another small fish around 15-18 inches including one stray bluefish. Called it good after that. Killer night, beautiful weather. Got some good video will post it when together.
