Fishing: Got on the water around 1:30 in the middle of the incoming. Was hoping for high sun to try and spot some fish, but high clouds prevailed. Went out and blind cast for a while around grass beds as we walked east for naught. Saw a large bass that had been fileted, probably by boaters. There were quite a few boaters in the inlet and some jet skiers cruising through the back bays. We made our way out to the small flat near the east end of the first island that I had found the week before. On our way out we spotted one big fish on a micro flat but didn’t get a cast to the fish. The fish was cruising not feeding or anything. We quickly lost sight of it as it headed into the dark grass bottom. Fished all around the structure for no takers. Got to the flat, water was up pretty good. Karl spotted to fish that almost ran into him and spooked. We blind casted heavily around the drops and channels but still no hookups. Saw one more big fish cruise the flat but didn’t get a head on shot at him. Threw the fly to him several times at the wrong angle, but no response. Headed back fishless.
