Best Flies: Widow Web KK Sally 16-18, Yellow PMD Spinner 18, KK Caddis 16-18.

Fishing: Camped for weekend with the girls, planning to float some in the tubes and mats and paddleboard. Also hitting the Oyster Ridge Music Fest in Kemmerer to check it out. Talked Tammy into it since that was going on and we would do stuff other than fish. For best shot at fishing around camp with no logistics, camped at Weeping Rock. When we arrived people were camped outside of the campground all over the place and the campground was full other than one spot in the middle. Wasn’t ideal and I almost bailed but it was late Anna hungry so we went for it. Ended up being a good spot surrounded by random reunion, people living there from Texas temporarily and a few fishermen. Fished that evening and billions of caddis, got on late and floated to camp. Think I caught a few but I don’t remember since writing this in late October ha.

Fishing: Day 2-3: I spent the two days fishing in the am from my pram along the weeping rocks before the girls were out of bed. There were caddis in the am, spinners then sallies. Hatches were thick, fishing going off all along the rocks at times keyed on different stuff. Got them on the caddis in the am one morning when they wouldn’t eat other stuff, then the sally and spinner depending on timing. There were pods of bows chowing relentlessly in the pockets. Boats would roll through, but largely not catch anything and not put them down. I would anchor up and work on a pod, pick one off which would rip like crazy forcing me to follow downstream and then ultimately land them and then resume fishing to the next pod that was in that spot. Got some super pig bows, awesome fish! So many risers, had to choose which to cast to.
