Went straight to river above Weeping since I knew the water would be clear and moss free with good water temps. Quite a few people around which is par for the course these days unfortunately. We saw fish sporadically rising right away so went in right at the saddle new boat ramp thing they installed. Spotted a couple of pigs up right up the cliff above me and can’t remember but think the CDC Ant on them and immediately stuck a pig cutty and landed it. Saw a giant bow rising and missed it. Worked across the river to the selectors that always rise on the shallow shelf and got worked. Had a few eat, but missed and mostly no eats. Eventually worked down into the slack water sippers on the edge and worked one hard for a while until ultimately going to a #22 PA and sticking and landing another cutty. Missed and put down all the rest on that edge and started working back up. Matt stayed put the entire day along the cliff below the car where I started and stuck a bunch of fish working up and down on ants and caddis. I worked all the way up the other side into the side channel sticking and landing a pig cutty on the confluence. Ultimately got all the way to the very top of the far river left sidechannel and stuck a pig bow that ripped the hell out of me epic battle all over, then a massive 22 or so Cutty that also went absolutely ballistic. Got several more in there too, all on the CDC ant fishing blind. They must have been stacked in there. Worked back down and picked a couple more off and ultimately ended up below Matt where I stuck and lost a pig bow and landed another one and missed some others all on the ant. Worked all the way down to mid river above the cable and had a killer brown power surf eat the ant, stuck and landed killer burrowing battle fat 19 or so beautiful fish. Largely called it after that and headed home mid afternoon. Phenomenal session and far better than I expected for late August.
