Green River Below Flaming Gorge B Section 4-19-2015

Date / Time: Sunday, April 19, 2015 12-3 Location: Green River Utah wading just above Little Hole The Characters: KK, BK, Tammy, Anna Weather: Perfect hatch weather, overcast low 50s and largely calm. Water Temp: 44 degrees at dam according to USGS Water Level: 850 cfs when I was there Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal Moon Phase: Day after new moon Hatches: Midges & BWOs Best Flies: Blue wing KK cripple, blue wing curve shank emerger Fishing: Headed to Little Hole for a few hours with the girls to meet Brian before we had to drive back. We went above Little Hole in the big, shallow flat since it was an easy quick spot and could walk with the girls. Fish weren’t really up when we got there like day previous. Weather was much cooler and overcast compared so probably colder water temp. Hatch got going an hour or so later and went off with fish rising everywhere and blanket hatch. Stuck several killer fish in the lower river left area before it riffles up. Super fun fish in shallow water that were moving and cruising to eat duns. Good battlers and solid fish. Fun couple hours and had to head out around 3 while they continued to go off. Brian was struggling with missing a lot of fish when I left since he had been steelheading mainly for previous month or so on the OP.
