Green River Flaming Gorge 4-14-2013

Date / Time: Afternoon float around noon 4-14-2013 Location: Section A The Characters: Kory and Dad. Weather: Partly sunny, windy mid to high 40s. Water Temp: low 40s guess Water Level: Low around 840 Water Clarity/Quality: clear. Moon Phase: Just after new moon. Fishing: Day two of week long trip of fishing and working from Brian’s house. Got on the water around noon and messed around with nymphs, but didn’t work it and not real good. Tons of midges, but a lot of boats so no fish really up on upper end. Started to see BWOs so pushed down. Threw the streamer, but it wasn’t really on, few eats on the black but they weren’t really into it. Got a few on suspended midge as we cruised through. Tried to get to lower water while hatch was going and ended up on Diving Board lower eddy, bunch of fish there but wind gusting caught a few but then raft and boat put them down. Worked pockets of risers here and there and then stopped again below mother in law lower right. Some fish were up there and stuck a few and missed a few. Below there, fish were up in all the small pockets like crazy and we stuck several of those but should have headed way down earlier. All in all good day and dad was getting his cast dialed in, good to be out with him as always.
