Green River Flaming Gorge 4-17-2013
Date / Time: 4/17/2013 2:30-4:30. Location: Wading Little Hole 2nd ramp to flat above riffle above 1st ramp. The Characters: Kory. Weather: Partly sunny with batches of cloudiness. Off and on wind gusts, occasionally calm. Cold with temps in high 20s. Water Temp: low 40s guess Water Level: Low around 840 Water Clarity/Quality: clear. Moon Phase: Just after new moon. Fishing: Decided to fish up from Little Hole since previous days went down. Crossed at 2nd ramp and spotted several nice fish working in eddy opposite of 2nd ramp. I waded above and fished down to them and stuck a bunch of nice fish on cripples and snowshoe wing sparkle dun #20. First fish was killer 18-19” fat, healthy ripper. Many nice fish here. After sticking 8-10, moved up. Worked through riffles but didn’t see much until the flat water. At that point, some nice fish up all over the flat especially when wind gusts would calm. Got several good fish throughout the flat on the snowshoe wing and eventually quit when first boats showed around 4pm. Fish were still up good, but it was super cold and I had already had good fishing.
