Green River Below Fontenelle 1-15-2014

Date / Time: Wednesday, Jan 15, 2014. 10:30-4:30 Location:  Green below fontenelle. Dodge bottoms, Seedskadee Islands and up. The Characters: Kory K, Brian K, Brett Johnston Weather: Sunny, high clouds, breezy mid 30s Water Temp: High 30s guess Water Level: 1040 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Slight color Moon Phase: Couple days after full Best Flies: San Juan and other worm patterns. Fishing: Drove up for the day and met Brian and Brett. They had fished the day before and did alright. I wanted to get out and the weather looked decent, forecast for no wind however it ended up breezy. Temps got into mid 30s but had ice guides all day. Fished dodge bottoms first and walked the long sidechannel, but didn’t have the rig dialed in. BK and Brett hooked a few above the ramp river left but I was out fishing the drop and got whities. Fished lower Dodge for nothing other than Brett hooking one. Headed up to Seedskadee Islands and fished river left below 2 channel confluence and hooked several bows. I landed only one and kept losing others. Brett was on pretty good and landed several nice bows. BK got a few. Brett got a few more mid channel and I hooked two more and lost them below where the 3rd channel pours in. Hit the big drop midriver two above skunk by the sheep corral for naught and realized I was in the wrong spot. Hit a few more spots above, but it was getting late and had to head back. All in all fair fishing, but good to get up there.
