Green River, Utah: August 28-29, 2010
Date / Time: 8/28-8/29/2010 Location: Green River Section A and B Float 1st day, just A second day The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Brian Kapaloski, Tammy Stevenson, Dave Malone and Jade in other boat not with us but there Weather: Partly sunny, thunderstorms, some periodic heavy rain Water Temp: 50s Water Level / Tide: around 1,900 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal Clear Moon Phase: Last quarter, tail end Fishing: Tam and I went out friday evening last minute couldn’t decide where to go and BK was off. Stopped at the snag and had some tacos and margies and went to the house for a bs session and fly tying with bk. Next a.m. did the dawn float and got on around 6:30 a.m. Fish weren’t as on it as they should have been but weather was a little unstable. Tried various patterns but darker colors were getting most attention like olive and black sculpins. Lots of fish aggressively taking and immediately ejecting so many misses and losses. Large percentage missed and lost. Took lunch break back to DJ then did the B afternoon. Threw some hoppers and got a few eats but weather kept switching so went back to the streamer. Had similar success most of the day with lots of “flash and tugs” as we were calling it. Instant fast hits and no hookup. Had some big fish below red creek, but reluctant to eat and more misses. Day 2 got on late mid day float on A. Lots of rafters and we were in the mix with other boats. Had spotty streamer action mainly during overcast. Not the best fishing. I lost and missed almost all of my fish and BK landed two.
