Green River, Utah: February 12, 2011

Date / Time: 2/12/2011 Location: B section float The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Brian Kapaloski Weather: Mostly sunny and occasional breeze Water Temp: 38-39 Water Level / Tide: Low 900 cfs or so and stable (had dropped earlier in the day as a result of dual peak releases) Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal Clear Moon Phase: Just after first quarter Fishing: Tam and I drove up night before and stayed in Flaming Gorge Lodge since RCL was booked. Got up and had breakfast with BK and Becky at the lodge and headed down. Got on the water around noon. Beautiful sunny day with occasional breeze. Threw streamers and had a slow start but then started getting fish on my sculpin pattern. Tried white to minimal interest, then threw goldilox (my version with the uv polar chenille) and they were on it good. BK had a killer session through the grasshopper area. They wanted a pretty moderate retrieve with long pauses. Tried black magic for a bit and they were on it ok, but not great switched around and it never picked back up much. Looked for fish up on midges, but the hatch was virtually nonexistent and didn’t see much. Pugs was ok especially top and bottom. Below Red Creek was spotty but found a few. Good day all in all.
