Green River, Utah: Spring 2009

Date / Time: 4/9/2009

Location: Green River Section B Float

The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Lee Kapaloski

Weather: Partly cloudy, moderately windy

Water Temp: 39-low 40s

Water Level / Tide: Low 800 cfs or so and stable

Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal above Red Creek, muddy below although not red but didn’t fish there

Moon Phase: Close to full

Fishing: Threw streamers on the drift, but fish were pretty unresponsive with the colder water and the stable river flow. Fish were sporadically rising as the first BWOs started to show around 1 and as that progressed fish were up all over the place. They were very easy with 5X and a #18 P.A. The fish were not in the best shape a little skinny and not as big as years ago before the fire altered the bottom structure on this section of the green river.
