Tam, Anna and I stayed previous night in Kemmerer after being on the Green day previous. Rebekah picked me up at the Best Western on her way into town at 9am and Tam and Anna headed home. Got on the water around 10am and there were fish up right away. Put a caddis on the first one and it ate immediately, good battle nice 18 incher. Picked off another bigger fish on the caddis rising in a seam. Both fish in the fence hole right across from parking. Worked my way down after that and found a few blasting stuff in mid river, they refused the caddis but there were sporadic PMDs too so figured they were taking cripples or nymphs hanging. Put on the floating PMD nymph and within a few casts fish pounded it. Next one ate it readily too. Got a few more on that and then found some bank feeders. Switched to the KK cripple to see and they ate that pretty good. Missed a good fish twice that was in shallow water on the bank. Missed several in a row, then finally landed a good fish. Walked back up to fence hole and fished the riffles above and found some pigs rising. Jason, Dan and Rebekah caught up and I stuck several nice fish on the PMD nymph and caddis. Dan was fishing drop below me with dry dropper and couldn’t get them, missed a few. He eventually quit and there was still a big fish rising right where he had been standing, put the floating nymph over it a couple times and he hammered it killer battle good fish then had lunch. Went out later in the afternoon and not a lot happening, but fished the slow stretch below the upper property boundary and after watching carefully noticed there were several rising but just very subtle and sporadic. Put the rusty over them and stuck several good fish. Nobody out since it was late afternoon and looked like nothing happening. Some big fish up though. After sticking a half dozen or so, headed to have early dinner. Dave Malone showed up around 6, we ate and headed out. Put the spinner on since it was evening and went back for revenge on some of the fish I missed earlier. Stuck several in short order as Dave watched and was somewhat overwhelmed with how many were up so subtle and how much of a slaughter I was having. Worked down and went farther down to bottom property boundary. Found pods in all the usual spots and stuck several more. Worked back up and ended on a good fish in a back eddy, left them rising after a slaughter of a day.
