Henrys Fork 6-23-2013

Date / Time: 6-23-2013. Location: Henry’s Fork Ranch and then a few hours at Seely’s on Lower Henry’s Fork. The Characters: Kory, Aaron Adams, Mike, Justin (mikes friend). Weather: Sunny. Water Temp: mid 50s guess. Water Level: Don’t remember Henry’s Fork Ashton gauge says around 2,000 Water Clarity/Quality: clear. Moon Phase: Few days before full. Fishing: Morning fished the ranch aaron and I. There were good drakes and fish were on them here and there exploding, but quite a few dudes. Ran into Mitch Coles who stuck a few. I stuck a pig and played it for a while but lost it. Missed another two big ones whiffed. They crushed the fly. We made our way back up and ran into Mike below log jam who had stuck several on drakes. Worked up through the edge above log jam and fish were up here and there and very willing to eat the drake. I was fishing the #12 loop wing and they ate it good. Missed and lost every fish though..was on a role. Never did land any, spotted a monster above log jam as I was wading with Mike but never got it to eat. AA got a few but no big ones. Grabbed a sandwich and headed down river as we were driving home. Mike chose Seely’s to throw goldens around. We worked through and there were sporadic goldens but nothing great. I stuck a pig brown under some trees and lost it, fished droppers but couldn’t get them into it. Mike stuck a pig and landed it and missed a few others. Ultimately crossed and stuck a few small to mid size fish but it wasn’t really on. Saw HF guide, can’t remember his name with client land a giant brown as I was crossing. Headed home after that.
