Henrys Fork Idaho 8-31-2013

Date / Time: 8-31-2013 morning and evening **Location:**Henrys Fork millionaires in morning and upper ranch in evening. The Characters: Kory, Tammy along but didn’t fish Weather: Sunny and warm 80s, cool in am 40s Water Temp: 60s guess Water Level: Around 800 island park Water Clarity/Quality: Lots of moss especially lower especially on the drift. Moon Phase: Between last quarter and new moon. Fishing: Fished millionaires in the morning down in large flat. Got on water around 10am. There were fish sporadically up on miscleaneous spinners, callibaetis mostly but other random too. Got a real nice fish on rusty but immediately entombed in moss, got that moss off and it got wrapped again. Eventually got it off and landed it. Found more fish sporadic, but never could get on one. River left top of big flat below millionaires found several fish that I spotted from bank that would rise and move around, but couldn’t get them to eat and pin them down, spooked several got a few drifts with beetle for nada. Found a few above there in channels above millionaires and put renegade on them and both and they both ate pretty easy on 5x and both ripped into moss and broke me off. So much drifting moss it was a pain in the ass so eventually left around 1pm. Evening: Fished the evening at top of ranch around log jam and below. Not a single other angler in sight (not a great sign since it was Saturday of labor day weekend). There were a few caddis around and some sporadic tiny duns and spinners (pseudos and tricos). Nothing much up, but eventually found a few along a bank. Got each to eat the renegade fairly easily. First two jumped around and got off and the 3rd ripped into the moss and broke off. Overall super slow fishing.
