This was my 3rd morning in past few weeks, but the first one I actually made sunrise. Got there around 7 and the sun was still behind the mountain
Launched the pram and was first on the water with nobody around. Decided to try to slowly edge up to the river channel and make a few casts. Dropped anchor and began throwing toward the river channel, within 1 or 2 casts I got whacked and hooked a nice brown around 16-17 inches. It ripped pretty good and I was able to land it so was stoked to start off that way. I was just opposite of the two trees that have been poking up and increasingly showing as the water drops.
I stayed there for a bit and got a small smallie parallel to the river channel and no others so started moving around. I covered all the water up into where the river dumps in over to the springs coming down the south cliffs and out to the single tree straight west from the ramp. Never hooked any other fish, but had a few other grabs on pink and white and black rabbit with olive deer head. Thought I would get more, but didn’t happen. I marked most fish in the channel and then out by the single tree. Some areas were pretty devoid. Good enjoyable morning.
