Date / Time: 3/30/2013 & 3/31/2013 Location: LC Ranch. The Characters: Kory, Tammy, Dad, Susan, Brian, Becky Weather: Mostly sunny mid to high 50s. Water Temp: Low 40s guess. Water Level: Normal. Water Clarity/Quality: Clear on most ponds, off color a bit on dog and fisher and upper ponds. Moon Phase: Few days before last quarter. Fishing: Got up Friday night for easter weekend to spend with Tam’s family and dad, and Ann’s birthday. Didn’t fish first evening, but there were already risers. Ice was only off a few days previous and still some on one end of cabin. Fished canoe on lodge while others were sleeping and slayed them on big camel midge fish were pretty hot high teens sized bows mostly. Then headed to dog with dad and slayed them pretty good trolling white bugger and casting white bugger and big beadhead camel midges. Got some nice rainbows and occasional browns, quite a few bows in low 20s. Hopscotched around other ponds and ended up having lunch and going down to cabin to look for big fish. Tammy in my boat, Brian showed up and ended up out with dad and Susan. Got a little breezy. Didn’t see much in way of fish. Blind casted around the cabin and hooked a monster brown about 7-8 pounds maybe 25 or so but ridiculous girth. Dad got a big rainbow with Brian as well. Wind was picking up so we headed out. Drove back up and checked out Island, got several on white bugger nothing spectacular. Stopped at Fisher and it wasn’t happening, got a couple. Went back out on dog with the 3 of us and it was sporadic, mostly white bugger on the troll nothing spectacular. I got several just fishing the white bugger in the middle. After that, headed back to lodge and fished the lodge chain after dad had to warm up with a shower. Hooked some nice ones on upper upper, but they were nervous. Fished the bead on middle lodge and slaughtered a bunch. After that, called it a day. Next day only fished a bit in the am. Fished cabin and BK got a good tiger and hooked another we were trying to spot them and saw some pigs but far and few between and spooked before we cast. Fished dog for a bit and it was good, not as good as previous day then pounded a bunch on the beadhead before we left on lodge. Fish were rising on one end of lodge very actively the first day, but never did try a dry.
