Lower Provo 4-17-2012

Blew off the afternoon and headed to the lower as the bwos had been killer a few days previous. Parked at upper parking lot above hoover. Got there a little late as I had work to finish up arriving around 3:30 on the water. I saw that it had dropped earlier in the day from about 200 or so to about 100 or so. When I got there realized how low that was. There were BWOs coming off sporadically, but didn’t see any risers. Fair amount of people around and with the low water, probably put everything down. Walked down and fished a tiny bead brown midge dropper behind a PA. Got several on that decent fish, also got one eat on the PA but missed it. There were virtually no risers. Then switched to palsa with bigger bead as lead and sow behind just out of curiosity. Hooked several on that mostly on sow. Didn’t stay late, but tons of midges and wouldn’t be surprised if late there were risers. Nice to get out but not the dry fly fishing I was hoping for.
