Lower Provo River 1-19-2014

Date / Time: Sunday, Jan. 19th 2014 1pm-5pm Location: Lower Provo The Characters: Kory K Weather: Sunny & calm, low 40s. Water Temp: High 30s guess Water Level: 90 cfs or so Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal clear Moon Phase: Just after full Fishing: Headed down for afternoon since weather was very good. Parked right below dam and tried to spot fish, ended up spotting some very large rainbows and other fish in the deep slow water toward the bottom of the first pool. I tried sneaking in above and running a double bead with a tiny blackhead disco behind a large brown bead. Never did hook any of them. Fished throughout that pool and never hooked any. Eventually headed down and hit deep slot river left above satellite, could see a few but none hooked after 30 minutes of flailing. Eventually worked down into Gomez and tied on a larger sow behind double beadhead rig and hooked a nice brown, then a couple of bows. Fished my way back up the other side as the sun got lower and hooked a few more. All of them ate the size 18 sow after I had fished the size 20 to no avail on several pools above.
