Lower Provo River 1-4-2014

Date / Time: January 4th, 2014 Location: Lower Provo The Characters: Kory, BK, Dad Weather: Partly sunny, high 20s breezy, cold. Cold front passed through day before and dropped temps. Water Temp: High 30s guess. Water Level: Low around 98 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Clear. Moon Phase: Few days after new. Fishing: Headed down with BK around 11:30, got on water around 1pm or so. Had to be back by 4 so only fished a couple hours. Went in at Hoover hole access and it was quite busy despite the cold temps. We went in anyway and fished the water right below the hill. Worked up through into big meadow hole and there were bunch of fish podded up on river right under the trees, but they were super spooky. I fished them anyway with a shallower bead rig but only foul hooked fish. Headed down river and fished the hole two up from Hoover since people were in other spots. Hooked 4 or 5 smaller fish browns and bows on the 14 brown bead and random other flies, BK got one too. Moved down below Hoover and dad got one in the small hole below. Cloud moved in, temps dropped and we had to head out. Nice to get out but nothing great.
