Date / Time: February 19, 2013 Location: Middle Provo diversion area above hwy 40. The Characters: Kory Weather: Mostly sunny high 30s low 40s breezy. Water Temp: High 30s guess Water Level: Low around 130 cfs Water Clarity/Quality: Clear. Moon Phase: First quarter. Fishing: Headed up for few hours mid day, arrived around 12pm or so. Wind was blowing, not terrible but a bit breezy but pretty warm. Took a look up by dam, but didn’t see risers so headed to diversion. Fished hole above diversion hole shallow nymph for a bit but didnt hook any. Few fish were sporadically rising, so switched to trailing shuck #22 and 7x. Got a few to eat, but they were picky didn’t hook any in that hole. Headed upriver and found some smaller fish in a riffle and hooked a few of those. Saw some bigger fish in pocket on opposite side. Hooked a few 15 inchers on the #22 trailing shuck and then noticed some bigger midges so went bigger. Got a few more on the bigger midge. A few were around 18 inches, but skinny. Hatch started to taper off so went down. Few fish still rising in head of diversion but didn’t get them to eat. Headed out around 2pm, good couple hour session.
