Date / Time: Saturday April 9, 2016 3-6pm Location: Lower Provo fast water stretch above Hoover The Characters: Kory K Weather: Partly cloudy, sprinkles, breezy. Temps in 50s. Water Temp: Low 40s guess Water Level: 95 cfs release plus Deer Creek Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal clear Moon Phase: 2 days after new moon Best Techniques: Dries, small dry dropper Best Flies: Cripple emerger BWO #20 (scud hook, barr emerger body colors), brown bead #20 Fishing: We were staying at Mountain Valley RV Park in heber since we had just purchased our first trailer and wanted to use it. I headed down for a couple hours in the afternoon, got there around 3pm. It was busy with cars, but I went right into the fast water stretch and nobody was in it. I spotted a riser in the pockets and BWOs started trickling through and the hatch progressed and got quite good. Stuck several nice fish picking the little pockets in the fast water. Jumped down lower and continued to find fish up even as the hatch tapered off in all of the sneaky edges. At the end above the deep pool one up from Hoover, I spotted several in the shallows not rising so threw the small brown bead and they chomped it. Stuck several more good ones doing that. Headed up shortly after that, great few hours.
