Lower Provo, Utah: April 9, 2011
Date / Time: 4/9/2011 Location: Lower Provo River The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Lee Kapaloski Weather: Howling wind and fairly heavy snow off and on. Water Temp: 40ish (guess) Water Level / Tide: High for time of year 750 cfs or so Water Clarity/Quality: Crystal Clear Moon Phase: Just before 1st quarter Fishing: Dad and I went down and fished afternoon even though it was fairly ugly out. Wasn’t too windy in SLC, but ripping down at the river. When we got to the water, the hatch was blanket, but wind was pushing the bugs upstream. Fish were up good in certain spots but tough to see and since the bugs were getting blown upstream the fish were quite picky. When your bug moves down and the hundred others move up it doesn’t look right. The hatch was pretty impressive though. Dad got one good one pretty early on on the cripple that I have been tying and then I got a few, but the fish were fairly picky so kind of got worked compared to a few days previous. Good to get out with Dad even though conditions were brutal.
