Fishing: Was heading home after a 4 day solo trip hiking into winds and fishing around Pinedale. Loaded up trailer and stopped at Remmick on way home hoping to either hit trico spinnerfall or throw hoppers. Got on the water and several fish were visible sipping tricos right away just up from the diversion above the ramp. I tried to sneak up on the first good one from below but put it down. Worked up to another mid river and put that one down too. Initially started with a caddis since I thought the fish may be reckless with limited pressure, but realized that was wrong call. Added tippet and threw on a bigger spinner since I still didn’t want to commit to tricos. Worked another fish and was stripping the fly in after a drift and it chased it down and hammered it. Hooked and landed that 16-17” brown ripping fight. Made my way up and there was a good pod of fish below the riffle at top of next pool. Snuck up below those and put each one down and realized I needed to fish outside in. Worked up and saw a couple more good ones in the next riffle drop so went outside in and the fish ate the first good drift after a couple of casts. Ripping hot battle in the shallow water, good fun. Worked up and hooked a few more in similar circumstances. Had a few more chase down dragging or landing hard flies, not sure if hoppers were on their mind or caddis pupa or what but they were attracted to fast moving stuff. Should have thrown the hopper, but didn’t want to re rig and needed to head home. Spinner fall was waning and water was warming, so I headed out. Good session and should have been on water earlier and hit it on one of the other mornings I was there.
