The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Dave Severson, Brian Kapaloski, Paul Callister
Weather: Partly cloudy and sunny
Water Temp: High 30s to mid 40s
Water Level / Tide: Moderate, dropping. Bogachiel gauge said just under 30 feet which is a little high.
Water Clarity /Quality: Lower river at bridge blown out from slide. Above slide it was turning “steelhead green”
Moon Phase: New
Fishing: Arrived with dropping conditions 1st day. Fished upper Bogachiel 1st at top of road before road leaves river to the trailhead, killer run no action moderately high water but it looked fishy to me. Walked up river to another good run about 1/2 mile with good log jams and slots, but no action. After that met up with BK and PJ, but they hadn’t found any either. Went down river and hiked in sidechannel and went up river to some good looking water but too shallow and fast. Went to cross above another killer run, but bagged it as BK and PJ went for it. They fished through with no results. Dave and I walked down river, but never found any real good swing water so headed back out. I think we called it a day after that.
