Got up a little late as we had driven all night from the Salmon River about 6 hours. Stopped in Albany and lucked into a killer dinner at this place New World Bistro. Headed to Quonnie pond and checked out the last of the incoming, but nothing was happening at least nothing visible. A couple of guys were fishing the rocks with sluggos but they hadn’t hit anything. Went out and looked at the beach but no birds except 1/2 mile east. Headed back as tide was slacking so, we decided to pack up. We headed back and made our way to the breachway but nothing was showing. Made some blind casts in the southwest crosswind, but nada. Moved on and looked at the beach at weekapaug. Nothing around the breachway except a few birds outside. Parked at the west quonnie lot and took a look. There were birds working hard on the beach about a 1/2 mile east so i ran to get my gear. Ran after them, but they kept moving further east. Eventually gave up as they were too far. Hung around for a few but nothing happening. Moved on to misquamicut beach. Took a look and saw some good birds and fish that ended up moving decently close, but couldn’t tell if they were small fish. Never got right in the mix and eventually they headed out of range down the beach. Decided to check the point at watch hill. Nothing at all happening, no visible birds or anything so we decided to pack it up and head to Montauk for the guide day I booked with Bryan Goulart for the next morning.
