Fishing: Started out fishing back side of quonnie pond rear west in the a.m. nothing happening last of the incoming. Went to the inlet and tide was slacking. Went to breakfast and came back for incoming. Dave said it turned on when I left and he had landed a good fish in the low 30s and several other small ones landed as well. I headed out tide still incoming and worked the drop off from left to right back toward the rocks. Got a few small fish and then hooked into a good fish, after a pretty good battle with no serious runs got the fish to hand my biggest striper on foot so far. I was pretty stoked as it was my birthday fish, nice! Kept throwing and only got a few more small fish until tide fully flooded. As the flood continued, we went back to the west end and threw for a while for a few more small fish. Later in the evening we went over to ninigret pond and fished the back end where ninigret park is as Jeremy had some intel on the worm hatch. We got there and sure enough, fish were slurping worms everywhere. It was like big browns sipping mayflies with an occasional explosion. I had an intermediate line and some bigger worms. The worms I saw were very small and grey, not cinder worms. Didn’t touch a fish, I needed a floating line and a fly that would stay in the surface. Nate ended up getting one fish, but that was it between four of us. It was super cool to see and I am sure if I was better prepared I could have hooked a few. Next time…
