Fishing:
- 7/6 Oasis: Fished solo from bridge up alone. Saw no other fishermen. excellent PMDs several lg fish to 21” all on dries. Fish were tight to edges in mini back eddies, seams and foam lines. Not too many fish in main current as water was a bit higher. Fished from 10 a.m. to about 4 p.m.
- 7/7 Duch: Only hit a few fish on droppers. Water had already come down, looked like a week or two late for the drakes or stones. only fished for an hour or two w tammy around mailboxe access.
- 7/8 Gorge: Was going to Font, but water raised this morning so scrapped and headed for Pork Fk. On the way conditions were perfect at Jug Hollow, calm, sunny no T storms. Fishe a couple of hours landed one big fish around 20 lbs and one smaller on marabou green beadhead leech. Many damsels around and fish were interested in them. Fished evening Pork Fork, but minimal activity on upper end should have been down low.
- 7/9: Camped on Buck Ranch W Tam. 7/8, 7/9. Headed over in early a.m. didn’t see much, slept until 9 went back fish up all over on rusty spinners and caddis. Had Tam come over and we both hooked many fish throughout day on various PMDs. Some good, super hot fish to 21”. Caddis and Sallies also coming off, but fish were mainly on PMDs. Late afternoon hooked up w pj who banged a bunch on small midge droppers w no risers around. Evening, good spinner fall, hooked some nice fish on lower end.
- 7/10: Fished a.m. PMDs solo tam came for a bit. Hooked several more nice fish, hatch wasn’t as consistent but still plenty of risers. Hooked a bunch of fish on 18 gold tung bead PT also. Quit fishing around noon, broke camp and left mid afternoon to head to Green. Launched late around 8 p.m. to camp at Red Creek. Water was up, perfect evening slay fest on big dries. Tammy spanked a bunch of nice fish and we had leisure float into camp. Brian and Becky in other boat slaying as well.
- 7/11: Floated from Red creek camp down and had awesome sallies all morning. Caught several nice fish. Wind was up most of the day however making it a little more difficult. Big Cicadas were also out and fish were on big dries, mid sized dries esp fat albert tan as well as the sallies and then PMDs later. Skipped the evening to head to RCL for the weekend for Susans B day.
- 7/12: Fished RCL Pond afternoon around 2-4 p.m. and landed a fatty on a beetle and missed the other eats. BK and Becky came out later and BK hooked some nice fish on Fat Albert. Earlier George said Damsel fishing was awesome.
- 7/13: Fished the morning on the pond again, but limited action. Landed one good fish on a dropper and had a few other takes but not much happening.
