Weber River, Utah: August 25, 2010
Date / Time: 8/25/2010 Location: Lower Weber through middle Weber The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Dave Malone Weather: Mostly sunny Water Temp: 60 (guess) Water Level / Tide: Lower end varied depending on above or below diversion. 400 cfs or so from Echo 192 from Rockport and a trickle below the diversion. Water Clarity/Quality: Off color below Echo, Crystal Clear below diversion in low water. Clear below Rockport Moon Phase: Full Fishing: Hit the weber for the evening around 4 p.m.. Drove up 15 and through Weber canyon and contemplated stopping but headed to check out Stoddard Slough since i finally found a map to get there. It was interesting, pretty mossed in but i found a few rainbows and made a few casts with hoppers but they weren’t interested. There were a shitload of hoppers around though. Then went looking for Weber access and ended up below the diversion near peterson near the convenience store. Fished up through there in the trickle of water and got one small fish, but bailed since it was so low. Went above and met Dave Malone at Taggart and checked it out but the water was off color and there were tubers and i wasn’t feeling it. Headed up to Judd lane for the last 40 minutes or so of light. Got there and there were some dudes in the hole i like so went above the big eddy and fished that bank. There were decent caddis and a few fish on them. I proceeded to hook most of them on an EZ caddis and lost every one. Only one was big and others were mid sized. Looked around and found a few in the eddy at the very last light and got one mid size tiger trout to call it a day.
