Got up the next morning and was going to float w dave and pete, but decided to go w tammy and rent a drift boat. Put on up below the dam in Stilesville. Started out and nymphed a few spots including right below the weir and got kicked off. Nymphed a few drops, but nothing happening. Only a few sporadic bugs coming off and water was high, so decided to throw streamers. Within a few casts of the white bugger, got a huge fish to follow so knew they were interested. Over the next few hours pounded the streamer while rowing and fish were constantly chasing it and a lot of them were quite large. Hard to get them to eat though. Eventually got a few mid sized but the big ones eluded me. Found some fish up on sulphurs below the route 17 bridge in the long deep pool river right. Fished there for a while and managed to land a few up to 18” or so. One good fat, strong fish but a few beat up fish. Went back to the streamer and they were following it like crazy. Eventually got a big fish to eat and landed it. Not sure the size, but a pig in th
e low 20’s beautiful, healthy clean fish. As we floated, fish were constantly chasing and following and managed a few more nice, fat 18-low 20 inch fish. Dropped Tam back at the cabins as it was getting cold and floated myself down to west branch. Fished a few more spots on my own and banged a few more. Awesome, visual streamer fishing. Excellent day!
