West Branch Delaware 8/9/09: Streamers
Date / Time: 8/9/09 Location: West Branch Delaware River
The Characters: Kory Kapaloski, Tammy Stevenson, Weather: Partly cloudy, Rain, Fog Water Temp: High 40s Water Level / Tide: High 1700 or so Water Clarity/Quality: Clear Moon Phase: Just past full Fishing: Floated again with Tammy and threw streamers the whole time. Once again they were all over it. Seemed like they were more willing to eat today, maybe because of lower light conditions. Had off and on rain all morning and fog all day, then pretty consta
nt rain and super dense fog in the afternoon. Managed to get several large fish including some super dramatic takes in shallow clear water. Tammy rowed a lot of the day and kicked ass. She actually was doing very well using each arm independently without even telling her to. She kept me positioned perfectly and as a result I got a lot of fish. Found a few pigs rising when I was able to pull myself away from the streamers, but just as I got my rod rigged instant downpour and we had to run for cover. Tam didn’t have a rain jacket so she was wearing mine so we had to hide out. It was a
deluge for about 20 minutes and when we went back out the fish were down. Went back to the streamer and crushed them for the rest of the day. Awesome visual crazy streamer fishing in dense fog. Got totally soaked in the afternoon but it was well worth it.
