Date / Time: 10/3/2010 Location: A.M. Fontenelle PM Ham’s Fork The Characters: Kory Kapaloski Weather: Mostly Sunny Water Temp: mid 50s (guess) Water Level / Tide: Low, average typical for time of year Hatches: Fontenelle still some tricos and Pseudos. Ham’s Pseudos, Black Midge, Occasional Mahogany and Callibaetis Water Clarity/Quality: Fontenelle algae flowing down lower, clener up high. Ham’s Slight greenish with algae flowing, but pretty clear Moon Phase: Just after last quarter Fishing: Writing this a few weeks late so may be off a bit. Started the day at fontenelle. Drove up with Tam at hotel in Kemmerer. Checked out the bridge and a bunch of small fish and whities rising. Looked at upper refuge, but people all over. Went down river to dodge on river left and looked at riff raff but people there too. Dodge had no one soe fished there dry dropper. Got one decent brown to eat the dry and lost it. Hooked one fish on dropper that felt small and didn’t hold on. That was it, no other eats on dropper or dry. Went up high and fished through channels around the car. Got nothing fishing hard through main edge above, then got one super fat brown on stone nymph on river right channel drop. Nothing really happening so headed to Ham’s. Checked out lower Ham’s since I have always wanted to. Looked killer, but only hooked a few mid sized bows on droppers. Headed back to the ranch for the last bit and hooked some good fish but can’t remember if I landed much. Headed back to Kemmerer for dinner.
