Wyoming: Ham's Fork October 2, 2010

Date / Time: 10/2/2010 Location: Ham’s Fork The Characters: Kory Kapaloski Weather: Mostly Sunny Water Temp: mid 50s (guess) Water Level / Tide: Low, average typical for time of year Hatches: Pseudos, Black Midge, Occasional Mahogany and Callibaetis Water Clarity/Quality: Slight greenish with algae flowing, but pretty clear Moon Phase: Just after last quarter Fishing: Slayfest day with somewhat sporadic risers when I arrived around 11, but if you found em they would eat. Several typical tight to the bank fish rising very subtle. First fish ate a wullf and it was a pig, but lost it. After that spent the day hammering fish on various bugs including smaller wullfs, para ant, shimazaki ant. Landed several very large fish super healthy and ripping hot fights. Later in the day, fish got a little bit pickier but were rising a lot more consistently so I was forced to fish midges and small bwo patterns like small thorax and trailing shuck midge. Excellent day with phenomenal weather and good fishing with only a few people around included Jason Curry guiding a solo guy. Tammy spent day at new Best Western in Kemmerer which turned out to be great and we had dinner at Ham’s Fork Grill which was pretty decent.
